eureka! a cure for dandruff!

it's a problem that has affected many. so many people struggle with this everyday.
DANDRUFF.

including me, i have bad dandruff. i hide it the best i can, but when your hair is nearly black, there isnt much you can do.

during the winter is when it's worst for me. and well...winter's just around the corner and my scalp was getting itchier every day

BUT....

the other day i found  a website that told me that dandruff can be cured by not using shampoo (as well as making your hair healthier)
so i decided to give it a try. and guess what?

2 days later and my scalp is clear!

anyone with this common problem, i advise you to try it.

Children in the Appalachians.

For my english comp class, I had to write a paper that pertained to my major (children's ministry) and since i think i want use my life to help the children in the Appalachians, i wrote my paper on that.

The poverty in the appalachians is worse there than any other part of the country.  the poverty leads to depression which leads to prescription drug abuse. the prescription drug abuse, amongst the half a million that live in the mountains, is higher than that of new york city.

But perhaps the saddest part of what these children go through is toothlessness.  The parents can't afford milk so they put MOUNTAIN DEW in their babies bottles! people are LOSING their teeth.
a local dentist has seen TWO YEAR OLDS with up to TWELVE cavities. he's seen teenagers that pull their own teeth out with pliers because of pain. this is so heartbreaking.

which is why, this summer, i'm hopefully going to be working at a camp in the mountains and show these kids the love of Christ <3

I'm starting to think I'm fender-bender prone...

Today, I thought it'd be a good idea to go to wal-mart. So my friends Heather, Elizabeth and I got in Heathers car and started on the short, 10 minute trip to wal-mart.  When we were coming around a curve (oh the joys on TN mountains) and this dude in a pick-up truck WITH A TRAILER HITCHED TO IT decided to pull into his INCLINED DRIVEWAY as we were barreling around the curve. So we all yelled cause we knew we were gonna hit him.

Everything was fine. He was kind of rude. He cussed at Heather. But everyone was fine, no one was injured.  Heathers car got little banged up.

this was my second wreck since June. so, i'm a little shook up but everything is fine!

creeper window thoughts.

So I'm sitting in what is dubbed as the "creeper window" here at Johnson. It overlooks the cafeteria so you can creep on everyone that's eating.  It's kind of odd. But that's alright :)

But anyway, I've just been thinking about I miss home much more this year that last. I can tell you this comes from one specific reason: my nephew; or as my sister dubs him on her blog, the professor. I miss him. It's hard being away when he's too young to know I love him.

 I miss you professor.

and my nieces, it's hard being away from them. but at least they know I love them.

aka the hippie & the genius.

greetings!

Hello, for those of you who don't know me, my name is Kendra.
here is a little information about me.

First and foremost, I'm a Christian and a follower of Christ. But know that I will not judge you. I am called to love, not judge. I will not be in your face with my faith and I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't judge me :)

• I am a sophomore at Johnson Bible College, majoring in children's ministry.
• I'm originally from a small town in Ohio (Go BUCKEYES) :)
• Like the URL says, I like zebra's. Maybe I'm obsessed.
• I have a heart full of compassion and I'm going use that compassion in my ministry.

Okay, stay tuned for updates and follow me through the life of a bible college student.
